About Me

I’ve been told I’m crazy for writing in two completely different genres, but I don’t see it that way. I hold a BArts in Ancient History and have been a history buff of any time period or region for as long as I can remember. Dad had a willing partner in me when he visited museums and historical sights the world over. But the thing that drew me most to history were the people and the mythology.

Magic and mythology is fascinating. The fact that people from every culture, all over the world, are able to suspend disbelief to grasp wholeheartedly the belief in things they cannot see, can’t prove scientifically–I believe that’s an aspect almost every culture shares. So even my historical novels weave a bit of magic into the threads of their tapestry. Or should I say breathe a little fate into each roll of the dice? So, it makes perfect sense to me.

I also live in a magical place. The Northern Territory of Australia is one of the most ecologically diverse and stunningly beautiful places on the planet. And that’s not just bias talking. When you see a red dust, Territory sunset, or stand beside a billabong in the monsoonal rain, you know you’ve landed some place special. That anything is possible. And for me, everything has been possible here. I’ve married the man of my dreams, had two beautiful babies, started my writing career and travelled the world. It’s a good life and I’m blessed to be living it.
